Things I want to do before I die

Ok, so this isn't exactly photo-related, but I really have no other place to put this.
I have been pretty ambitious for most of my life, and I realized that I have never written down my goals, and I've heard that it helps you in achieving those goals.

So, in no particular order, the things I want to do before I die:

1. Direct a short film (that is seen by the public)
2. Be published in a major magazine
3. Be debt-free
4. Travel the world
5. Live somewhere besides the united states
6. Write a book
7. Have a family
8. Work a contract that is worth 100,000.00 +
9. See Tom Waits in Concert
10. Get a Master's Degree (in something)
11. Be in a *real* band
12. Work for myself 100%

There you have it. In an effort to get these things done, I have already started #4, I'm in my second year of college now and a bit closer to #10, I have ideas for #1, I'm starting to take music much more seriously for #11, and I have already tasted #12.

Let the journey begin!

Slow times at Green Bay, WI

I'm terrible at this whole blogging thing.
Between being back home in Wisconsin where I had no time to myself because everyone wanted to hang out with me and being back in school with an insanely hard class, I have had little time to do much photo-work.

However, I did do some. Lets start with "Portrait of a home."

The concept was personal, it was to depict the home I grew up in as a child. The house had been added onto a number of times, and I did my best to not photograph those areas, rather the places I had the most experiences as a kid.
I didn't get quite as much done as I had hoped, but I like the ones that came out of this.
I played a number of shows while I was back home with friends, and managed to get my paws on a few of those photos:

Then I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Arto, an AMAZING Green Bay WI band, check them out:

I also had some time to do a few portraits:

I am on twitter now, if you would like to follow me there I would like that very much.

I promise that I update more there than I do here.
Not to say that this blog will be forgotten, this blog is much better for showing photos. However, I am enjoying twitter quite a bit I'm embarrassed to admit.
To top this off, I would like to show you what 10+ hours of homework looks like:

That is all.

Semester Picks

Let's skip the formalities of me telling you how guilty I feel for not updating more, it's called "Photo a day" blah blah blah.
Another semester has come to a close, and I have picked out what I feel are the best images.
My work has improved a lot since I came here to AAU, and I am very thankful to have had Mike Hearst as a teacher in "People Photography." He would look at your best work, tear you a new asshole, and then sit you down and tell you how you could do it better. I really needed someone to do that to me.

And here's a few other photos I took that I thought were good. Taken at the Ritz Carleton, when we snuck in to make s'mores:

Last but not least, a stop motion video I made for my visualization class:

I have a lot of projects planned for my break from school. First of all, I plan to photograph my father. I'm not sure why, but I have a very strong urge to do so, to show him how I always saw him growing up. I've learned to just go with my gut.
I'm also planning on starting a project called "A day in the life of..." where someone basically gives up all of their privacy to me for a day, and I shoot them at home, at work, at friend's places...

I'm talking to a few magazines about publishing some of my work, interested are 944 magazine, 3.1.1. magazine, and Dust Magazine.
It's also worth mentioning that the photos I did for the "Think for yourself" ad campaign project were entered in the AAU spring show, and they were sent to CMYK magazine as well.

So much is happening!
